Greenbrier reports $600M in railcar orders for fiscal Q4
The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. (NYSE: GBX) announced orders for 3,400 new railcars valued at approximately $600 million during its fiscal fourth quarter ended August 31, 2026, according to a company press release.
The orders cover a range of railcar types and end markets. Among them, 780 units are destined for Saudi Railway Company (SAR), a Saudi Arabian government-owned entity. The SAR portion includes tank cars for transporting phosphoric acid and molten sulfur, as well as intermodal units.
Greenbrier said the SAR order marks its first sale of intermodal units to that customer, extending a relationship that began with a tank car order in 2015. Tank cars made from U.S. steel were manufactured at Greenbrier's facilities in Mexico and have begun shipping to SAR.

Brian Comstock, Executive Vice President and President of The Americas, said, "Our fiscal fourth-quarter orders demonstrate global customer demand for Greenbrier's products and the value of our commercial and engineering capabilities."
Greenbrier is headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and designs, builds, and markets freight railcars in North America, Europe, and Brazil. The company also owns a lease fleet of approximately 20,600 railcars.
