Gogo and Insitu complete satellite connectivity integration for Group 3 UAS
Gogo (NASDAQ: GOGO) and Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary, announced the completion of testing and integration of a modified high-speed satellite connectivity solution designed for Group 3 Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), according to a press release from the companies.
The two companies adapted Gogo's Galileo HDX antenna for installation on Insitu's Integrator UAS. The solution provides connectivity over Eutelsat's OneWeb low-Earth orbit satellite constellation and uses a single line replaceable unit configuration. The integration was completed alongside the FLARES Vertical Take-off and Landing kit.
John Kelly, Vice President of Growth at Insitu, said in the statement: "Adding an ITAR-free, high-speed SATCOM option is an essential capability for our global customers—extending command and control and allowing seamless backhaul of sensor data with minimal latency."

Ben Massey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gogo Special Missions, said the antenna system was "further optimized for size and weight" to address what he described as the "fast-growing Group 3 UAS market."
According to the companies, the solution requires minimal deck space, can operate in high seas and gusty winds, and requires no aircraft modifications. The package includes onboard hardware, satellite services, and around-the-clock support.
Gogo Special Missions is the military and government division of Gogo. Insitu, headquartered in the United States with offices in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, has manufactured more than 3,500 UAS and serves armed forces in 35 countries.
