Old Dominion Freight Line to raise rates 4.9% in October
Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (Nasdaq: ODFL) announced a general rate increase of 4.9% effective October 5, 2026, applicable to rates under its existing ODFL 559, 670, and 550 tariffs.
The increase will vary by customer depending on shipment lanes and distance traveled. It also includes a nominal increase in minimum charges for intrastate, interstate, and cross-border lanes.
Greg P. Lawrence, Old Dominion's Vice President of Pricing Services, cited ongoing cost pressures as a driver of the increase. "This GRI is designed to help offset continued cost pressures related to real estate, equipment, technology, and competitive wages and benefits for our employees," Lawrence said.

Old Dominion is a less-than-truckload motor carrier providing regional, inter-regional, and national freight services across North America through a network of service centers in the continental United States.
