XPeng Inc. (NYSE: XPEV; HKEX: 9868) held a China launch event for its G9L SUV in Beijing on Sept. 17, 2026, and announced the vehicle will be available in 64 global markets, with a global launch scheduled for October 12 at the Paris Motor Show.

The G9L is offered in both battery electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (REEV) versions. The vehicle measures 5,120 mm in length with a 3,100 mm wheelbase. It is powered by XPeng's VLA 2.0 model and uses the same Turing AI chip as the company's IRON humanoid robot.

According to the company, the G9L completed 192 crash tests across four safety protocols — Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C-NCAP, and CIASI — and underwent road testing across 26 countries over three years, accumulating more than 6.74 million kilometers.

Production will take place in both Guangzhou, China, and at Magna's plant in Graz, Austria. The G9L is the fourth XPeng model to be assembled at the Graz facility, following the G6, G9, and P7+. XPeng announced a cooperation agreement with Magna in September 2025.

At the event, Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng also announced that XPeng's first automated production line for humanoid robots had been commissioned. He stated, "We believe in 'car as robot', over the past few years, we have built an in-house AI foundation based on our work in AI cars and humanoid robots, and it powers both."

The G9L global launch will take place at XPeng's booth in Hall 6 at the Paris Motor Show in France on October 12.
