Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID) and European ride-hailing company Bolt announced a strategic partnership to develop and deploy autonomous mobility services across Europe, according to a press release dated Sept. 17, 2026.

Under the agreement, Bolt aims to deploy at least 25,000 fully autonomous Lucid vehicles across multiple European cities and countries, as part of a broader target of 100,000 autonomous vehicles on its platform by 2035. The vehicles will be built on Lucid's upcoming Midsize platform and are intended to operate at SAE Level 4 autonomy.

The platform is expected to utilize Nvidia Hyperion, a production-ready autonomous vehicle reference architecture that combines high-performance compute with a standardized sensor suite.

Bolt's dedicated autonomous driving unit, Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions, will lead the partnership on Bolt's side. The unit will help define vehicle requirements, software, safety, and rider-experience parameters, and will also build fleet infrastructure, operating systems, and city partnerships. Bolt intends to own and operate the fleet.

On Lucid's side, the partnership will be managed by a newly established division called Lucid Technologies, which brings together the company's artificial intelligence, advanced driver assistance systems, autonomy, and digital functions under a single structure.

Silvio Napoli, CEO of Lucid, said the partnership offers an opportunity to extend Lucid's technology beyond consumer vehicles.

The two companies said they will work with autonomous-driving technology partners, European regulators, and policymakers to support the introduction of autonomous mobility services across the region. Bolt operates in over 50 countries and 850 cities and serves more than 200 million customers.
