Clearmind Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ: CMND), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, testified at a federal hearing convened by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Sept. 14, 2026, in Washington, D.C., focused on the potential future therapeutic use of psychedelic drugs.

Mary-Elizabeth Gifford, Clearmind's Chief of Global Impact, addressed a federal listening panel on the topic of patient access. The panel included Tiffany R. Farchione, M.D., Director of the Division of Psychiatry at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, along with senior officials from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, and the Veterans Health Administration. Approximately 1,800 participants attended the hearing in person and virtually.

Gifford told the panel that Clearmind's clinical trials at Yale University Medical School and Johns Hopkins University have produced findings suggesting that non-hallucinogenic, psychedelic-derived neuroplastogenic compounds may reduce the need for expensive supervised dosing sessions. "Our findings have led us to believe that this may represent a scalable treatment model that is a replicable and shareable opportunity for the future of American health," she said.

Clearmind's lead drug candidate, MEAI, is being evaluated for the treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder in an FDA-approved Phase 2a clinical trial at the two universities. The company states MEAI is among a limited number of non-hallucinogenic psychedelic-derived neuroplastogen candidates to have reached that trial phase.

The FDA hearing also solicited testimony on provider training and credentialing, patient safety, and best practices for data collection and standardization.

According to a press release from the Vancouver-based company, Clearmind holds a portfolio of 19 patent families, including 32 granted patents. Its shares trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker CMND.
