Tiziana Life Sciences signs MOU for multiple sclerosis trial

Tiziana Life Sciences (NASDAQ: TLSA) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the Foundation for Neurologic Diseases to collaborate on a clinical trial for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS).

The agreement was signed by CEO Ivor Elrifi at the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on September 16, 2026.

Under the MOU, the parties intend to evaluate a combination of Tiziana's intranasal foralumab, a fully human anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody, with existing anti-CD20 therapy in RRMS patients who are responding poorly to anti-CD20 therapy alone. The company states that three clinical studies have shown intranasal foralumab to reduce neuroinflammation.

Elrifi noted that this RRMS program represents a multiple sclerosis indication beyond the company's ongoing non-active Secondary Progressive MS program, and said it does not affect that effort. He added that a Phase 2 trial for non-active Secondary Progressive MS remains blinded, with results expected in October 2026.

KAIMRC operates under Saudi Arabia's Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs and conducts translational research aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy.
