Groupon opens platform to developers and AI agents via Builder Pack
Groupon, Inc. (NASDAQ: GRPN) announced the Groupon AI Builder Pack on September 16, 2026, opening its local deals marketplace to independent developers, creators, and AI agents.
Under the program, builders can create websites, apps, or AI agents that feature Groupon deals and earn commission on qualifying purchases. AI agents are able to search Groupon's catalog and complete purchases on a customer's behalf, with Groupon managing checkout. Builders can filter deals by category and location.
Groupon stated that its deals are already accessible within ChatGPT as a plugin and within Claude as a connector. The company also noted that it formed a board-level Artificial Intelligence Committee in March 2026.

"The last several weeks are showing that we are nearing the next inflection of AI: the rise of personal AI agents," said Dusan Senkypl, Chief Executive Officer of Groupon. "We bring the marketplace and the audience, builders bring the ideas and the understanding of what their communities need."
Chief Product Officer Marie Havlikova said the program gives developers access to deals, filtering, and checkout in one place.
Public access to the AI Builder Pack is expected during October 2026, with a waitlist currently open.
