Co-Diagnostics, Inc. (NASDAQ: CODX) and ReadyGo Diagnostics Ltd. announced a collaboration to evaluate whether ReadyGo's blood sample-preparation technology can be combined with the Co-Dx PCR platform for point-of-need molecular testing, beginning with Ebola virus detection.

The collaboration pairs ReadyGo's GoCollect® system, which prepares capillary blood samples in the field through integrated sample-conditioning chemistry and plasma separation, with Co-Diagnostics' PCR platform, which is designed for decentralized testing environments. The companies said GoCollect's collection chemistry is also intended to inactivate the virus at the point of collection. Compatibility between the two technologies has not yet been established and is the subject of ongoing feasibility work. Co-Diagnostics said it has taken delivery of ReadyGo materials and devices to begin that evaluation.

The Co-Dx PCR platform has not been cleared or authorized by the FDA and is not currently available for sale.

Co-Diagnostics said that if blood is established as a compatible sample type, the platform could be extended to bloodborne pathogens including HIV and hepatitis B and C, categories that swab-based sampling cannot reach. Each additional application would require separate development, validation, and regulatory authorization.

The companies cited the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as context for the initial focus. The World Health Organization reported 6,757 confirmed cases and 3,267 deaths as of Sept. 7, 2026, with a case fatality rate of approximately 48% across 61 health zones in six provinces. The WHO has described it as the second-largest Ebola outbreak on record. An imported case was also reported in France this year.

"Preparing a blood sample for testing in those settings is an important part of that challenge, and ReadyGo brings technology that we believe could help us address it," said Dwight Egan, CEO of Co-Diagnostics.

ReadyGo is based in Bath, United Kingdom. The companies said there is no assurance the evaluation will be successful or result in a commercially available product.
