MDA Space unveils Earth observation product suite ahead of constellation launch

September 16, 2026 6:00 AM

MDA Space Ltd. (NYSE: MDA) announced on Sept. 16, 2026, at the World Space Business Week conference in Paris a new end-to-end Earth observation product portfolio under its MDA CHORUS™ brand, ahead of a planned constellation launch later in 2026.

The portfolio consists of three products: MDA CHORUS™ COMMAND, an entry-level platform for scheduling satellite acquisitions and searching image archives; MDA CHORUS™ COMMAND PRO, which integrates a regional ground station directly into a customer's operations for near-real-time local data processing; and MDA CHORUS™ INTELLIGENCE, an analytics suite covering maritime awareness, vessel detection, oil-on-water monitoring, ground deformation, and energy infrastructure.

The products are designed to work with the MDA CHORUS™ constellation, a three-satellite system comprising two new spacecraft — one X-band and one C-band — alongside the existing RADARSAT-2 satellite already in orbit.

"Earth observation at MDA Space has always meant more than building world-class spacecraft. We have spent decades turning synthetic aperture radar data into intelligence products for maritime, defence and critical infrastructure monitoring," said Mike Greenley, CEO of MDA Space. "With this new expanded MDA CHORUS™ product line, we have taken that same heritage and built it into a user-friendly and complete product system that customers can directly access, task, and grow with."

The announcement follows the opening last month of MDA Space's MDA CHORUS™ Control Centre in Quebec. The constellation launch is scheduled for late 2026, according to the company's statement.
