September 15, 2026 10:55 AM

Nasdaq Ventures, the venture investing arm of Nasdaq, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ), has made a strategic investment in Transient.AI, a New York-based company that provides AI governance software for financial institutions.

The investment joins NEXT Investors as part of Transient's Series A funding round. The press release did not disclose the size of the investment.

Transient's platform is designed to monitor and control AI agent execution within capital market environments, offering features including real-time activity oversight, zero external data retention, and sandboxing controls. The company connects legacy financial infrastructure to AI systems through its Declarative Agentic Framework.

Transient also offers a product called Caddie.AI, described as an AI tool covering stages of the trading lifecycle from sales and execution through back-office operations, aimed at hedge funds, banks, and asset managers.

"We built Transient to provide a secure intelligence layer and controlled execution environment for global markets—unifying legacy systems under rigorous governance," said Sreej Menon, CEO of Transient. "Having Nasdaq as a strategic investor and client validates the need for enterprise AI built on safety, transparency, and strict operational boundaries."

Gary Offner, Senior Vice President and Head of Nasdaq Ventures, said the firm is investing based on Transient's ability to embed governance controls alongside AI deployment and the team's experience in regulated markets.

Transient said the capital will support expansion across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, with targeted growth in London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The company is headquartered in New York, with offices in Miami, Singapore, and India.
