Charles Schwab and Anthropic bring Claude AI to RIA advisors
Charles Schwab's Schwab Advisor Services and Anthropic announced a partnership to bring Anthropic's Claude for Financial Advisors platform to the more than 16,000 independent registered investment advisors (RIAs) that Schwab serves.
According to a press release, Schwab Advisor Services is the only RIA custodian currently included in Anthropic's Claude for Financial Advisors offering. The platform is designed to assist advisors with tasks such as meeting preparation, financial plan updates, portfolio analytics, and drafting client follow-up communications.
RIAs will access Schwab Advisor Center through an authenticated connection within Claude, allowing the AI to work alongside tools advisors already use, including CRM systems, portfolio reporting, financial planning, and estate planning software. The solution includes audit logs for administrators to review activity.
"Independent advisors have always succeeded on the strength of their relationships, and relationships are built on advice, service and client experiences that stand apart," said Jon Beatty, head of Schwab Advisor Services. "AI is exponentially powering the ability of advisors to stand apart in this way, even more so if it is integrated with the proprietary workflows and tech stacks advisors have already built."

"Our goal is to bring the benefits of AI to as many families as possible, and a direct path runs through the advisors they already trust," said Peter Nolan, head of asset and wealth management at Anthropic.
Claude for Financial Advisors uses MCP connectors, a library of advisor skills and plugins, and agents designed to handle pre- and post-meeting work as well as CRM updates.
Anthropic is scheduled to join Charles Schwab (NYSE: SCHW) at the Schwab IMPACT 2026 conference, where RIAs will have the opportunity to learn more about the platform and its capabilities.
