Oracle launches AI agent for nurses to cut documentation time
Oracle Health announced U.S. availability of its Clinical AI Agent for nurses on Sept. 14, 2026, expanding an existing AI tool previously used for physician documentation to inpatient nursing workflows.
The tool is embedded within Oracle Health Foundation EHR and includes three core capabilities: voice-driven chart navigation and search, AI-generated acute nursing summaries, and voice-enabled discrete charting. The features are designed to allow nurses to locate patient information, review patient condition overviews, and complete structured documentation without manual data entry.
Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences, said the agent "delivers quicker access to patient information and enables voice-powered documentation at the point of care."

BayCare Health System is among early adopters. Lynnette Clinton, chief information officer at BayCare, said the capabilities have "the potential to reduce after-shift charting, ease administrative burden, and give them more time to focus on patients."
According to Oracle (NYSE: ORCL), the physician-focused version of the Clinical AI Agent, launched nearly two years ago, has saved physicians more than 400,000 hours across U.S. health organizations. The company did not provide comparable metrics for the nursing product at launch.
Oracle Health and Life Sciences Summit is scheduled for September 22–24, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, where additional product details are expected to be presented.
