Voyager delivers quick disconnect system for ESA rocket demonstrator
Voyager Technologies (NYSE: VOYG) has delivered and integrated quick disconnect (QD) plates for the European Space Agency's In-Flight Demonstrator, according to a press release from the company.
Voyager performed the work under contract to Avio, ESA's prime contractor for the PNRR-STS Program, as part of an ESA contract carried out under Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The project is funded by the European Union's NextGenerationEU initiative.
The company designed, built, and integrated a dual-interface QD system consisting of a flight QD installed internally and a ground QD mounted to the rocket's external surface. These components connect internal fuel systems to ground infrastructure and are designed to detach safely during launch operations.

The IFD demonstrator is a single-stage rocket powered by a cryogenic liquid oxygen and methane engine. The installation of the QD system marks a step in cryogenic progression toward flight readiness.
"Launch providers globally are under pressure to move faster and operate more efficiently and this demonstrates our ability to deliver flight-ready systems at that pace," said Matt MagaƱa, president of Space, Defense & National Security at Voyager.
