American Honda Motor Co., a subsidiary of Honda Motor Co. (NYSE: HMC), announced that Mamadou Diallo will return to the company as executive vice president of the Auto Business Center, effective October 1.

In the new role, Diallo will oversee Honda and Acura automobile sales, marketing, and product planning, as well as parts and service operations in the U.S. The appointment follows sales leadership changes announced in July.

Diallo first joined American Honda in 2001 and held various positions within the company's Auto Sales organization. His prior roles include senior manager of Acura National Sales in 2017, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales, Incentives and Strategy in 2019, vice president of Auto Operations in 2021, and senior vice president of Auto Sales in 2023.

Eiji Fujimura, CEO of American Honda Motor Co., commented on the appointment: "Mamadou will help lead our auto business as we drive strategic collaboration across the organization focused on advancing customer lifetime loyalty and increasing value for money as the foundation to achieve significant growth of our business in the U.S. in the coming years."

According to a company statement, American Honda's stated priorities include a focus on customer lifetime loyalty, vehicle affordability, and expansion of hybrid vehicle sales, development, and production in the U.S.
