Investing.com -- The German government on Friday welcomed an agreement between Volkswagen's supervisory board and workers that prevented a conflict between major stakeholders.

A government spokesperson said the deal demonstrates that cooperation between employers and employees remains effective. The spokesperson added that authorities fully support the compromise reached between the two parties.
