Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK) announced that it recorded its highest domestic summer box office in the company's history, measured from the first Friday in May through Labor Day, according to a press release from the Plano, Texas-based theater chain.

The company attributed the performance to a broad film lineup spanning multiple genres. No specific revenue figures or attendance numbers were disclosed in the announcement.

"This summer demonstrated the importance of a consistent flow of compelling content that appeals to a wide variety of moviegoers, coupled with the unique draw of the larger-than-life, immersive environment our movie theaters provide," said Justin McDaniel, Senior Vice President of Global Content at Cinemark.

Cinemark operates nearly 500 theaters and more than 5,500 screens across 42 U.S. states and 13 countries in South and Central America. The company's Cinemark Movie Club subscription program has more than 1.5 million members.

Upcoming releases scheduled at Cinemark theaters for the remainder of the year include The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (November 20), Dune: Part Three (December 18), Avengers: Doomsday (December 18), and Jumanji: Open World (December 25), among others.
