September 3, 2026 8:01 AM

Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: MODD) announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared a set of software enhancements for its Pivot tubeless insulin patch pump system.

The clearance covers updates to bolus dosing functionality, including the ability for users to customize the amount of insulin delivered with each button press, along with an enhanced user interface and other software upgrades.

Chief Executive Officer Jeb Besser said the clearance was received ahead of the company's planned fourth-quarter 2026 commercial launch. "The cleared improvements represent the first in a series of enhancements and upgrades to the Pivot platform," Besser said in a statement.

The Pivot system is a wearable insulin delivery device designed for continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion with basal and bolus delivery over a three-day wear period. According to the company, the system is intended to provide a pathway from multiple daily injections to insulin pump therapy.

San Diego-based Modular Medical describes itself as a commercial-stage medical device company. The information above is based on a company press release.
