Saia reports LTL tonnage and shipment gains in July and August
Saia, Inc. (Nasdaq: SAIA) released less-than-truckload operating data for July and August 2026, showing year-over-year increases across key volume metrics for the first two months of the third quarter.
In July 2026, LTL shipments per workday rose 0.8% compared to July 2025, while LTL tonnage per workday increased 7.8% and LTL weight per shipment climbed 7.0%.
In August 2026, LTL shipments per workday increased 1.1% versus August 2025, LTL tonnage per workday rose 8.7%, and LTL weight per shipment increased 7.5%.
On a quarter-to-date basis through August, LTL shipments per workday are up 1.0%, LTL tonnage per workday is up 8.3%, and LTL weight per shipment is up 7.2%, each compared to the same period in 2025.
The Georgia-based carrier noted that actual third-quarter and annual figures could differ materially from the data provided. The company is headquartered in Johns Creek, Georgia, and operates 218 terminals nationwide.
