GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO) has appointed Balaji Rangaswamy to the newly created role of Chief Information Officer, the company announced. Rangaswamy reports directly to CEO Patrick Kelleher.

The appointment is part of a restructuring of GXO's technology organization into two areas: Foundation and Acceleration. Rangaswamy will lead the Foundation mandate, covering enterprise systems, architecture, information strategy, data governance, cybersecurity, digital resilience and service management. Chief Technology Officer Nizar Trigui will oversee the Acceleration mandate, which includes the expansion of GXO IQ, Agentic AI, Physical AI and robotics.

Rangaswamy joins GXO from Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, where he served as Vice President of Digital Technology for a $30 billion operation spanning five business units. Earlier in his career, he held CIO roles at Ricoh Americas Corporation and KLX Aerospace Solutions, and served as Vice President of Information Technology and Data Analytics at The Boeing Company.

"A strong technology foundation isn't just about keeping systems running. It's about continuously modernizing and integrating ERP, WMS and other core enterprise systems so the business can move faster with confidence," Rangaswamy said.

CEO Patrick Kelleher said Rangaswamy's experience leading large-scale technology transformations will help strengthen the foundation that supports execution and long-term growth.
