Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) announced an expanded collaboration with Oracle to deploy HPE Juniper Networking equipment across Oracle's AI data centers globally, according to a company press release.

The agreement covers a potential multi-year deployment of HPE Juniper Networking PTX and MX routing platforms alongside QFX and EX switching platforms across Oracle data centers worldwide. The deal also includes multi-year networking support services and financing capabilities.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure currently uses HPE's MX and PTX routers to support portions of its edge network, while QFX switches power multiple layers of its regional data center fabric. The latest QFX switches are intended to provide connectivity and congestion management for large RoCEv2 AI backend networks.

The two companies are also collaborating on network telemetry tools aimed at providing visibility into device and fabric behavior, with the goal of detecting issues such as queue buildup, packet loss, and traffic imbalances more quickly.

"Oracle is building AI infrastructure at extraordinary scale, and HPE is uniquely positioned to support OCI with one of the industry's most comprehensive networking portfolios for AI data centers," said Rami Rahim, executive vice president and general manager of Networking at HPE.

Mahesh Thiagarajan, executive vice president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said HPE Juniper Networking "plays a key role in our AI clusters, regional data centers, and edge networks."

As part of the agreement, HPE has issued Oracle warrants to purchase shares of HPE common stock. No financial terms were disclosed.
