Virtuix to demo counter-drone trainer at Army conference in September

Virtuix Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: VTIX) plans to showcase its Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) Personnel Trainer at the Maneuver Warfighter Conference at Fort Moore, Georgia, on September 15-17, according to a press release from the company.

The system, developed in collaboration with LeadTech, is an AI-enabled counter-drone simulation platform that uses Virtuix's Omni One omni-directional treadmill to allow trainees to move through virtual military training environments while practicing drone detection and marksmanship. The U.S. Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM) is also evaluating the system at Quantico, Virginia.

The demonstration follows a series of recent defense contracts and agreements for Virtuix. In May 2026, the U.S. Air Force selected the company for Phase I funding through the AFWERX SBIR program to develop its Virtual Terrain Walk platform. The U.S. Marine Corps TECOM, through partner KBR, also designated Virtuix as lead integrator to develop an infantry fireteam trainer using four Omni One units.

Additional programs include deployments at the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the Air National Guard, Yokota Air Base in Japan, and a cooperative research and development agreement with the U.S. Navy.

"Counter-UAS training is an increasingly important requirement for modern military forces," said Jan Goetgeluk, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Virtuix. "Virtuix's ability to bring full-body movement into realistic simulation environments creates a compelling training capability."

The C-UAS simulator recreates military training ranges as digital twins, enabling warfighters to conduct weapons training in virtual environments before live-fire exercises. LeadTech's system has been field tested at locations including Quantico, Virginia, Camp Pendleton, California, and sites in Italy and Finland.
