LP Building Solutions to halt OSB output at Texas plant in October

September 1, 2026 2:00 PM

Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (NYSE: LPX), operating as LP Building Solutions, announced it will indefinitely curtail oriented strand board (OSB) production at its Jasper, Texas facility beginning in October 2026, citing soft demand in the OSB market.

The Jasper facility carries an annual production capacity of approximately 475 million square feet on a 3/8-inch basis. The company said the decision followed a review of production requirements across its manufacturing network and reflects current OSB market conditions. Factors considered included operating costs, capital requirements, logistics, and long-term asset utilization.

"Current market conditions require us to align OSB production with demand," said LP CEO Jason Ringblom. "While the near-term environment for OSB remains challenging, we are confident in LP's strategy and our ability to create long-term value."

LP said it will continue to evaluate market conditions and may restart curtailed capacity when warranted. The Nashville, Tennessee-based company said it will provide job search and career transition support to affected Jasper employees and help them identify open positions at other LP facilities.
