Lexaria receives $2.6M tax rebate from Australian R&D program
Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) has received a cash rebate of AUD$3,666,611.98 (approximately USD$2.6 million) from the Australian Tax Office, according to a statement from the company.
The funds were deposited into the bank account of Lexaria's wholly-owned Australian subsidiary, Lexaria (AU) Pty Ltd. The rebate was granted under Australia's Research & Development Tax Incentive Program following a review of the company's 2025 application, which verified compliance with the program's requirements.
The rebate is connected to Lexaria's 12-week chronic GLP-1-H24-4 Study, which the company conducted in Australia. Lexaria said it intends to use the proceeds for future R&D activities in Australia.

"This is USD$2.6 million dollars received without having to issue any equity and thus avoiding shareholder dilution related to these funds," said Richard Christopher, CEO of Lexaria Bioscience Corp.
The company noted that the rebate was not included in previously filed financial statements or cash runway projections. It will be accounted for in the company's upcoming annual 10-K filing. Lexaria said it expects to announce its 2027 R&D plans in the coming months, which will include use of these funds.
