Draganfly Inc. (NASDAQ: DPRO) announced that the Federal Aviation Administration has granted the company a Section 44807 Special Authority exemption for its Heavy Lift drone platform, allowing commercial operations at maximum takeoff weights exceeding the standard 55-pound limit set under FAA Part 107.

The exemption permits Draganfly and authorized commercial operators to fly the Heavy Lift platform in U.S. national airspace. According to the company, the FAA's Section 44807 evaluation process requires validation of aircraft airworthiness, fail-safe engineering, risk mitigation protocols, and operational safety standards.

The approval covers use cases including cargo delivery, disaster relief supply distribution, specialized sensor deployments, infrastructure inspection, and defense logistics.

The Heavy Lift platform includes industrial-grade flight controllers, redundant avionics, and modular mounting systems. The platform is designed to support medical supply delivery in remote areas, tactical defense logistics, utility maintenance, and aerial surveys.
