Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) announced that its Presort Services division plans to hire more than 400 employees and add high-speed sorting equipment across its network, citing capacity needs following the planned closure of Postal Center International (PCI).

The company said it is prepared to absorb mail volume from businesses affected by PCI's closure, offering contingency planning and infrastructure to support a transition. Capitol Presort Services LLC also closed in December 2025, according to the press release.

Pitney Bowes Presort Services currently processes nearly 14 billion pieces of mail annually for more than 2,000 clients through a network of more than 30 operating sites across the United States. The division operates more than 350 vehicles, covering approximately 20 million miles annually.

"We understand the uncertainty and disruption PCI's closure creates for the mailers who depend on its services, and our priority is to help these organizations keep their mail operations moving," said Debbie Pfeiffer, EVP and President of Pitney Bowes Presort Services.

The Pitney Bowes Bank, Inc., Member FDIC, said it is positioned to provide financing support to eligible clients facing near-term funding needs related to a presort transition.
