Intuitive Machines, Inc. (Nasdaq: LUNR) announced it has been awarded a contract to build two IM 300 spacecraft platforms for a new, undisclosed customer, according to a company press release dated Sept. 1, 2026.

The Houston-based company said the order adds a new market segment to its IM 300 customer base. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"This contract demonstrates that the IM 300 can serve multiple missions with various customers. The modularity of the IM 300 enabled us to scale its capability to support a heavier, higher-power payload class," said Chris Johnson, President of Intuitive Machines Space Systems.

The IM 300 is described as the company's proliferated satellite platform, built around a modular architecture that allows a common core bus to support different payloads and mission profiles. The platform supports both chemical and electric propulsion options, optical and radio frequency inter-satellite links, and standardized interfaces for commercial, civil, and national security payloads.

The spacecraft are manufactured at Intuitive Machines' satellite production facility in Palo Alto, California, which the company says was built for serial spacecraft manufacturing.
