Bausch Health Companies Inc. (NYSE: BHC) announced that its aesthetics unit, Solta Medical, has made the Fraxel FTX® laser system available to health care practitioners in Australia as of September 1, 2026.

The Fraxel FTX is a skin resurfacing device that uses dual wavelengths — 1550 nanometers and 1927 nanometers — to treat different tissue depths. It is indicated for conditions including acne scars, surgical scars, actinic keratosis, dyschromia such as melasma, lentigos, ephelides, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The system includes a redesigned handpiece with a 20% reduction in circumference and weight compared to its predecessor, along with integrated cooling routed through the handpiece to the skin. It also features Intelligent Optical Tracking™ with AccuTRAC®, a patented system that calculates hand motion during treatment to support dosimetry and uniform delivery.

Solta Medical said it will support Australian practitioners with clinical education, training, and business support alongside the product launch.

The Fraxel FTX is a prescription-only device. Contraindications include predisposition to keloid formation and use of systemic steroids or isotretinoin. Potential adverse events include blistering, burns, skin discoloration, infection, scarring, and eye injury.
