August 31, 2026 8:36 AM

BMO (NYSE: BMO) and the Los Angeles Lakers announced a long-term partnership naming BMO the exclusive official bank of the Lakers, beginning with the 2026-27 NBA season.

Under the agreement, BMO branding will appear on the Lakers' newly designed practice jerseys, and Lakers Training Camp will be presented by BMO. The bank will also serve as the inaugural naming rights sponsor of BMO Courtside Reserve floor seats and a club on the event level at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles.

The partnership includes a new legacy program called the League of Stars, presented by BMO, which will recognize Lakers Legends throughout the season. BMO and the Lakers will also collaborate on financial empowerment and small business programs across Southern California.

Aron Levine, President of BMO U.S., described Southern California as "an important growth market" for the bank in a statement accompanying the announcement. Lakers President and Chief Business Officer Lon Rosen said the deal "signals a paradigm shift for how the Lakers will partner with brands moving forward."

BMO Financial Group is the eighth largest bank in North America by assets, with total assets of $1.5 trillion as of July 31, 2026. The Los Angeles Lakers will begin their 79th season of competition in October 2026.
