AMD and Cisco activate AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia with Humain

AMD (NASDAQ: AMD), Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) and HUMAIN announced that AI infrastructure powered by AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs, AMD EPYC CPUs and Cisco Silicon One-based networking is now operational in Saudi Arabia, serving HUMAIN customers in the kingdom and internationally.

The deployment uses Cisco's N9000 Series platform, built on Cisco Silicon One and Cisco 800G optics, to interconnect the MI355X GPUs in a fabric designed for low latency and operational resilience. The infrastructure enables HUMAIN to offer GPU-as-a-service across use cases including model training and inferencing.

As part of the next phase of their previously announced joint venture, the three companies plan to deploy up to 250 MW of additional AI infrastructure beginning in 2027, powered by AMD Instinct MI400 Series GPUs, AMD EPYC CPUs and AMD ROCm open software alongside Cisco networking. Capacity from that deployment is expected to begin coming online in the second half of 2027.

The joint venture remains on track to deploy up to 1 GW of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia by 2030, according to the companies' statement.

HUMAIN is a company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. The collaboration is intended to provide governments, enterprises, research institutions and developers access to AI capabilities through locally operated infrastructure.
