United Therapeutics presents drug trial data at two European congresses

August 28, 2026 7:00 AM

United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq: UTHR) announced it is presenting eight research abstracts across its drug portfolio at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026, held August 28–31 in Munich, and the European Respiratory Society Congress 2026, held September 5–9 in Barcelona, according to a company press release.

The presentations include late-breaking analyses from the phase 3 ADVANCE OUTCOMES study of investigational ralinepag in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), the phase 3 TETON program evaluating nebulized treprostinil in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and interim data from the ARTISAN study of parenteral treprostinil in PAH.

Data from the ADVANCE OUTCOMES study showed ralinepag achieved clinical improvement in a lower-risk PAH population and reduced clinical worsening in PAH patients with connective tissue disease. Analyses from the TETON program showed nebulized treprostinil improved lung function and demonstrated a dose-dependent magnitude of benefit compared to placebo in IPF patients.

The ARTISAN interim analysis indicated that early, high-dose treprostinil reduced mean pulmonary arterial pressure and improved right ventricular ejection fraction at 12 months in PAH patients. Preliminary data from the PHINDER study, which is designed to improve screening for pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease, are also being presented.

In June 2026, United Therapeutics submitted a New Drug Application for ralinepag to treat PAH and a supplemental New Drug Application for nebulized treprostinil to treat IPF to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Ralinepag has not been approved for any indication and remains investigational. Nebulized treprostinil also remains investigational for IPF.
