Baidu to gain dual-primary listing status in Hong Kong on Sept. 1
Baidu, Inc. (Nasdaq: BIDU) announced that its voluntary conversion from a secondary listing to a primary listing on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited will take effect on September 1, 2026.
Following the conversion, Baidu will hold dual-primary listing status on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The company stated the conversion does not involve the issuance of new shares or any fundraising activities.
The stock marker "S" will be removed from the company's stock short names for both its HKD and RMB counters on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange effective September 1, 2026.
As a dual-primary listed issuer, Baidu will be required to comply with all relevant Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The company said it has taken measures to meet these requirements, including adjusting the composition of its Audit Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Shareholders approved the conversion at an extraordinary general meeting held on August 26, 2026.
