Quantum X Labs launches Qatacomb quantum security research initiative
Quantum X Labs Inc. (Nasdaq: QXL) announced the launch of Qatacomb, a research initiative operating through its QuantumQ Security unit, focused on exploring quantum-native approaches to protecting sensitive information.
According to a press release from the Tel Aviv-based company, Qatacomb will investigate security architectures that seek to combine access for authorized users with security properties based on quantum physics principles. The initiative will also explore whether protection levels can be dynamically adjusted to different operational requirements and sensitivity levels.
The next phase of the program is expected to include theoretical validation, advanced simulation, and proof-of-concept testing on quantum hardware, with the objective of evaluating feasibility, security characteristics, and potential real-world applications.
Prof. Nir Sharon, Chief Technology Scientist of Quantum X Labs, said: "Qatacomb represents our effort to think beyond simply adapting classical security methods to a quantum future and instead explore what security can look like when quantum physics becomes part of the architecture itself."

The company stated that QuantumQ Security will evaluate opportunities at the intersection of quantum computing and cybersecurity, with an initial focus on research, validation, and technology development targeting government, defense, critical infrastructure, and enterprise sectors.
The Qatacomb initiative expands the company's research activities, which also span quantum computing, quantum software, simulation, and quantum sensing.
The global quantum security market is projected to grow from approximately $2.5 billion in 2026 to approximately $9.8 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of approximately 40%, according to The Business Research Company.
