Syntec Optics Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTX) announced a new recurring order to manufacture specialized waveguides for space satellites, according to a company press release. The Rochester, New York-based company said it began ramping up weekly production and shipments of the components after a six-month development period.

The waveguides function as advanced antenna feeds that allow satellites to communicate across multiple channels simultaneously. Syntec said the components must be manufactured with precise internal curves and dimensions to ensure reliable signal transmission in low Earth orbit.

Matt Carey, vice president of business development at Syntec, said, "Because we already know how to make thousands of optics for communication satellites, we are ready to help with this urgent demand."

Chief Financial Officer Dean Rudy stated, "Our space antenna portfolio, featuring our previously announced stability product, can deliver in excess of a million in revenue annually." Rudy also noted that following a capital raise, the retirement of commercial bank debt last quarter, and a transition to a new audit firm, the company's finance infrastructure is positioned to shift focus toward business growth.

Syntec employs nearly 180 people and manufactures high-precision optics and photonics for defense, space, AI data centers, and life sciences applications.
