Vishay adds four automotive-grade ferrite common mode chokes
Vishay Intertechnology (NYSE: VSH) has expanded its Vishay Dale line of automotive-grade common mode chokes with four new surface-mount devices: the ICM5050-A, ICM6050-A, IFLN-1210BE-A, and IFLN-1812CZ-A, according to a company statement.
The AEC-Q200 qualified devices are designed for use in DC/DC power supplies, LCD displays, lighting drivers, in-vehicle Ethernet networks, and battery-powered devices. All four are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and compatible with automated pick-and-place assembly and reflow soldering.
The ICM5050-A and ICM6050-A are wirewound ferrite chokes offering current capabilities up to 11 A and 14 A, respectively. Their footprints measure 12.0 mm x 11.0 mm x 6.0 mm and 15.0 mm x 13.0 mm x 6.0 mm, compared with toroidal common mode chokes that typically measure 19 mm x 30 mm x 28 mm. DCR ranges from 4 mΩ to 12 mΩ for the ICM5050-A and 3.5 mΩ to 5 mΩ for the ICM6050-A, against a typical 23 mΩ for toroidal alternatives.
The IFLN-1210BE-A and IFLN-1812CZ-A feature precision winding and provide common mode impedance up to 11 kΩ at 100 MHz in compact 1210 and 1812 case sizes. Both devices operate across a temperature range of -55 °C to +150 °C and are intended for EMI suppression in CAN, LAN, and automotive DC/DC converter applications.
