Sony Electronics and VITEC announced a global collaboration to integrate Sony's Bravia professional displays with VITEC's Avedia IPTV and digital signage platform, according to a joint press release.

The integration delivers a player-less IPTV solution built directly into the display's system-on-a-chip (SoC), eliminating the need for external media players. VITEC's Avedia player software is deployed onto Sony Bravia displays via Android-based tools, reducing installation complexity and hardware requirements.

VITEC's content management system can support thousands of displays across varying screen sizes from a centralized control interface. The solution is designed to handle live IPTV channels, interactive signage, and targeted advertising, with real-time content adjustments.

The companies say the platform includes redundancy features and support for current security standards, with end-to-end content protection intended for mission-critical deployments in corporate environments, entertainment venues, hospitality, healthcare, and public facilities.
