Rackspace Technology (NASDAQ: RXT) announced the launch of Rackspace Cloud, a fully managed, multitenant cloud platform built on Broadcom's VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1, according to a company press release dated Aug. 25, 2026.

The platform is initially available in Dallas, with availability planned for the northern Virginia and Chicago areas. Rackspace claims to be among the first providers to offer a fully managed multitenant platform on VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 and describes itself as one of a limited number of Broadcom Advantage Partners authorized to deliver VMware Cloud Foundation-based managed cloud services.

Rackspace Cloud supports virtual machines, Kubernetes, and containerized applications on a single platform. Key features include elastic consumption on pre-staged infrastructure, enterprise-grade isolation, security and governance controls, multiple performance tiers, and around-the-clock managed operations.

Broadcom's Private Cloud Outlook 2026 research found that 56% of organizations are running or planning to run production AI inferencing in a private cloud, while public cloud use for production inference declined 15 percentage points year over year, from 56% to 41%.
