United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) announced plans to add 10 new international destinations starting as early as March 2027, along with three additional routes and the debut of its Airbus A321XLR aircraft.

The new cities, eight of which the airline claims no other U.S. carrier serves nonstop, include Okinawa, Japan (from San Francisco); Toulouse, France and Luxembourg City (from Washington Dulles and Newark, respectively); and seven European destinations from Newark: Marseille, Ibiza, Valencia, Terceira in Portugal's Azores, Ljubljana in Slovenia, Olbia in Sardinia, and Catania in Sicily.

United is also adding routes from Los Angeles to Osaka beginning March 27; Washington D.C. to Milan starting May 28; and Denver to Paris starting May 27. The airline will also resume San Francisco to Tel Aviv service on March 28, operating three times weekly.

The airline debuted its A321XLR aircraft at an event at Newark Liberty International Airport. The single-aisle jet features 20 United Polaris suites with privacy doors, 12 United Premium Plus seats, free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members, and Economy Plus seats with an open middle seat configuration. The aircraft will begin domestic service in September before launching international routes from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin on December 1.

Some of the new European routes, including Luxembourg City, Toulouse, Ibiza, Valencia, and Marseille, will be operated by the A321XLR. Other routes will use Boeing 777-200ER, 767-300ER, 767-400ER, and 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

United said it has added 58 international destinations since 2017 and now flies to more than 160 international destinations. All new routes are subject to government approval.
