IceCure Medical signs Netherlands distribution deal with Scovas Medical
IceCure Medical Ltd. (Nasdaq: ICCM) has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Scovas Medical for its ProSense® cryoablation systems in the Netherlands, covering breast cancer and interventional oncology applications, according to a company statement.
Under the agreement, Scovas Medical will serve as IceCure's exclusive distributor in the Netherlands for an initial term, with a view toward negotiating a longer-term arrangement. Scovas Medical is an independent medical device distributor based in the Netherlands that serves specialties including interventional radiology and vascular surgery.
The Netherlands is the site of the independent, multicenter randomized THERMAC clinical trial, which evaluated thermal ablation as a treatment approach for select patients with early-stage breast cancer. Previously published THERMAC data found that ProSense® cryoablation achieved a 94% complete ablation rate, a 0% complication rate, and 100% treatment tolerance without general anesthesia. The trial has advanced to Phase III with a focus on cryoablation.
"This exclusive distribution agreement strengthens IceCure's European commercialization strategy and supports broader ProSense® access in the Netherlands," said Eyal Shamir, Chief Executive Officer of IceCure Medical.
IceCure Medical develops liquid-nitrogen-based cryoablation systems for the destruction of benign and cancerous tumors, with focus areas including breast, kidney, bone, and lung cancer. The ProSense® system is marketed in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
