Forex.com launches overnight Japan stock CFD trading in Tokyo
Forex.com, operated by StoneX Securities Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: SNEX), announced the launch of Japan Stock CFDs and Japan Stock CFD Knock-Out Options in Japan, according to a press release dated Aug. 24, 2026.
The platform claims to be the first in Japan to offer overnight trading of these products, with hours extending from 5:25 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. JST. The claim is based on StoneX Securities' research as of Aug. 19, 2026, covering seven major domestic FX/CFD providers and major online securities firms in Japan, excluding stock index CFDs, physical equity PTS trading, margin trading, futures trading, and foreign stock CFDs.
Japan Stock CFDs allow clients to take positions on price movements in selected Japanese equities without owning the underlying shares. Japan Stock CFD Knock-Out Options incorporate a pre-set knock-out level at which a position is automatically closed. The maximum loss on Knock-Out Options is, in principle, limited to the option premium paid at the outset, though actual execution may differ during periods of sudden market movement or reduced liquidity. Japan Stock CFD trading is offered with zero commission, though spreads, financing costs, dividend adjustments, and other costs may apply.
Twenty-five instruments are available for overnight trading, including Toyota Motor, Sony Group, SoftBank Group, Nintendo, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, and Mizuho Financial Group, among others.
Johan Gade, Head of Retail - Japan, said: "By extending trading hours for selected Japan Stock CFDs and Knock-Out Options, we are responding directly to the reality that market-moving information does not stop when the domestic equity market closes."
StoneX Securities Co., Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of StoneX Group Inc. and is registered with Japan's Financial Services Agency.
