Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) has appointed Steve Bratspies, former chief executive of HanesBrands, Inc., to its board of directors, effective August 26, 2026, according to a company statement.

Bratspies most recently served as CEO of HanesBrands, where he also held a board seat. Before that role, he served as chief merchandising officer at Walmart Inc., along with other senior positions including executive vice president of food and executive vice president of general merchandise. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles at PepsiCo, Inc. and served as chief marketing officer of Specialty Brands, a frozen foods company.

Bratspies currently sits on the boards of Target Corporation and The Clorox Company. He holds a bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Brian Cornell, non-executive chairman of the Yum! Brands board, cited Bratspies's experience in retail, brand management, and consumer products as factors in the appointment. CEO Chris Turner said Bratspies's background would support the company's stated "Raise the B.A.R." strategic priorities.

Yum! Brands franchises or operates more than 58,000 restaurants across 155 countries and territories under the KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger & Grill brands.
