Balfour Beatty (LSE: BBY) has appointed Sarah Brand as vice president of operations for its Buildings business in Tampa, Florida, according to a company statement.

Brand, who joined Balfour Beatty in 2008, will lead operational performance and strategic growth for the Tampa business, with a focus on sectors including multifamily residential, hospitality, higher education, aviation and commercial development.

Brian Prebenda, Balfour Beatty senior vice president and business unit leader in Florida, said Brand's "knowledge of the Tampa market and ability to build strong teams position her to drive continued success as we grow our Buildings presence in this important region."

Brand holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Duke University and credentials including Professional Engineer, Designated Design-Build Professional and LEED Accredited Professional designations.

The company's Tampa portfolio includes multifamily developments with Related Group and PTM Partners, as well as projects such as Manor Riverwalk, Edge Collective II and Hotel Cala.
