Sypris wins contract to make power units for satellite constellation
Sypris Electronics, LLC, a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYPR), has received a contract from an unnamed space technologies company to manufacture power processing units for a next-generation satellite constellation.
Under the agreement, Sypris will handle non-recurring engineering, material procurement, and high-volume manufacturing of the units. Production is scheduled to begin with protoflight and pilot builds in Q3 2026, followed by phased delivery of flight units through mid-2028. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The contract requires Sypris to establish and qualify a high-volume manufacturing capability covering engineering, verification, and flight units. Work includes building production infrastructure, procuring specialized space materials, and performing assembly, integration, and testing.
