E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ: EPOW) announced that its joint venture, Sunrise (Guizhou) New Energy Materials Co., Ltd., has been included on Guizhou Province's recommendation list for China's eighth batch of national-level "Little Giant" enterprises, a designation administered by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Sunrise Guizhou is one of 28 enterprises in Guizhou Province named to the recommendation list, which was open for public review from June 16 to June 23, 2026. The provincial selection followed a multi-stage process that included enterprise applications, preliminary departmental review, and expert evaluation. Final national-level designation remains subject to further review and formal announcement by the MIIT.

The "Little Giant" program recognizes small and medium-sized enterprises that demonstrate specialization, technological innovation, and market presence in core industrial and supply-chain sectors.

According to the press release, Sunrise Guizhou has filed 187 intellectual property applications, including 46 granted patents — among them 35 domestic invention patents and three granted invention patents in the United States, Japan, and South Korea. The company also holds 17 registered data intellectual property rights and participates in the development of 45 industry standards.

In July 2026, an expert panel convened by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Science and Technology completed its acceptance review of Sunrise Guizhou's program on graphite anode materials for high-energy-density fast-charging lithium-ion batteries, confirming the program met required technical indicators and unanimously recommending acceptance.

Sunrise Guizhou was certified as a National High-Tech Enterprise in 2023 and received an Excellence Award at the 25th China Patent Awards in May 2025.
