ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) has completed the acquisition of Cogswell Engineering, Ltd., a civil and structural engineering firm based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the company announced Aug. 20, 2026.

The deal marks ZenaTech's 28th Drone as a Service acquisition, its third in Canada, and its second in the Halifax region. Cogswell provides civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services to builders, construction companies, public works authorities, and organizations across five Canadian provinces.

ZenaTech plans to introduce drone-based site inspections, structural monitoring, and 3-D data capture through its ZenaWorx platform to complement Cogswell's existing engineering services.

"This acquisition strengthens our Drone as a Service footprint in Atlantic Canada and extends our platform into civil and structural engineering design work," said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. "With provincial licensing and an established client base spanning five provinces, Cogswell provides an ideal platform for our acquisition and expansion strategy."

According to data from The Business Research Company cited in the press release, the drone inspection and monitoring market is growing at 19% per year and is projected to reach nearly $37 billion by 2030.

ZenaTech's Drone as a Service model offers subscription-based drone services to business and government customers, covering surveying, inspections, maintenance, and precision agriculture, without requiring customers to own or operate drone fleets.
