Unisys (NYSE: UIS) and Refroid Technologies, an India-based data center liquid cooling company, have announced a partnership to help organizations deploy and maintain high-performance computing infrastructure for AI workloads.

Under the agreement, Refroid will contribute its liquid cooling technologies — including direct-to-chip cooling, immersion cooling, coolant distribution units and hybrid load-bank systems — while Unisys will provide global field services covering deployment, commissioning, validation, technician training and lifecycle support.

According to a press release, Gartner forecasts worldwide AI spending will reach $2.59 trillion in 2026, with AI infrastructure accounting for more than $1.4 trillion of that total.

"AI is creating new infrastructure demands that extend well beyond the data center itself," said Patrycja Sobera, senior vice president and general manager of Digital Workplace Solutions at Unisys. "Organizations need trusted providers with expertise that bridges the gap between technology innovation and real-world execution as they invest in AI."

Refroid CEO Satya Bhavaraju said the partnership addresses a skills gap in AI infrastructure deployment. "The bottleneck in AI infrastructure is no longer silicon, it is the skilled expertise required to deploy the cooling that silicon demands," he said. "Partnering with Unisys gives our technology a global services backbone from day one."

The companies stated the partnership is intended to simplify AI infrastructure deployment, improve energy efficiency and expand service management capabilities for customers globally.
