Enphase Energy adds AI assistant to its home energy app
Enphase Energy (NASDAQ: ENPH) has launched an AI assistant within its Enphase App, making the feature broadly available to homeowners in most markets as of Aug. 20, 2026.
The assistant is designed to respond to natural language questions about a homeowner's energy system, drawing on live site-specific data such as solar production, battery charge and discharge, home consumption, grid import and export, EV charging activity, and device status.
According to the company, the tool can answer questions including why a battery discharged overnight, why an electricity bill is higher than expected, and whether a system is operating normally. It can also guide troubleshooting and, with homeowner confirmation, execute supported actions such as adjusting battery operating profiles, charge-from-grid settings, EV charging behavior, and notification preferences.
"Homeowners should not need to be energy experts to understand how their homes use energy," said Nitish Mathur, SVP of customer experience at Enphase Energy. "The Enphase AI Assistant turns complex system data into clear, personalized guidance, helping customers understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what they can do next."
The assistant uses a combination of large language models, model routing, retrieval-augmented generation, and tool orchestration. Any system-changing action requires explicit homeowner confirmation and internal validation before execution. Security features include persona-based access, tool-level filtering, action policies, audit logging, and session context management.
The assistant is also accessible through the Enphase Support website and can transfer conversations to Enphase customer service agents along with relevant system context and conversation history.
Feature availability may vary by country, system type, installed products, app version, and account permissions.
