Oman calls for permanent peace in Strait of Hormuz region
Investing.com -- Oman's foreign minister told his Japanese counterpart on Thursday that lasting security in the Strait of Hormuz depends on achieving permanent peace in the region.
The Gulf nation said it remains committed to maritime security and international law while rejecting any further escalation or conflict in the area.
Iran previously stated that an agreement with Oman regarding new shipping lanes through the strait was nearing completion.
