Xos, Inc. (NASDAQ: XOS) announced that its Xos Hub mobile and stationary energy storage system has received UL 2202 certification, a trinational safety standard for DC electric vehicle charging equipment administered by UL Solutions.

The certification covers the full Xos Hub product lineup, ranging from the 210 kWh entry-level model to the 630 kWh configuration. According to the company, the listing followed an independent evaluation of the Hub's electrical safety, construction, and mechanical performance under operating conditions.

UL 2202 is recognized across the United States, Canada, and Mexico and covers areas including fire hazard protection, electrical shock prevention, and mechanical durability. The certification is intended to simplify permitting, specification, and insurance approval in jurisdictions that require equipment listed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.

"UL 2202 certification gives fleet operators an independent, third-party stamp on safety standards we've built into the Hub from day one," said Dakota Semler, Chief Executive Officer of Xos.

Giordano Sordoni, Chief Operating Officer, added: "Earning UL 2202 wasn't just a checkbox for us, it was a validation of every design decision we made with the Hub."

The certification follows Xos's January 2026 expansion of the Hub lineup with three capacity configurations — 210 kWh, 420 kWh, and 630 kWh — aimed at fleets ranging from last-mile delivery vans to heavy-duty trucks. Xos is based in Los Angeles and manufactures its energy storage platforms in Tennessee.
