Constellation Brands pledges $100M to U.S. farmers over five years

August 19, 2026 4:30 PM

Constellation Brands (NYSE: STZ) announced a $100 million investment over five years to support farmers in Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota, according to a company press release dated Aug. 19, 2026.

The investment includes incremental purchases from American farmers and initiatives aimed at strengthening farming communities in those states. The company said barley, corn, and hops are central to the commitment, as those crops form a core part of its beer supply chain.

As part of the initiative, Constellation Brands said it will establish a grower-led advisory committee called Constellation's Farmers Future, which will bring together farmers, trade groups, and community leaders to help guide investment decisions related to agricultural resilience and domestic supply chains.

The company said it already spends more than $750 million annually with American farmers and suppliers and purchases approximately 80% of all U.S. barley exports. Constellation Brands said its broader U.S. operations account for more than $4.2 billion in annual spending on employee wages, capital expenditures, and taxes, and support more than 100,000 jobs across its supply chain.

"U.S. barley, corn, and hops farmers are an essential part of the American economy and foundational to our business," said Nicholas Fink, President and Chief Executive Officer of Constellation Brands. "Their work supports communities, drives economic activity across the supply chain, and makes it possible for our products to reach consumers across the country."

Governors and senators from Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota issued statements in support of the announcement, citing the importance of barley production in their respective states. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven noted that the state produced more than 28 million bushels of barley last year.
